Koss Porta Pro headphone refresh is better than ever for just $60 Impedance is rated at 60 ohms, and just like the original Porta Pro, the Limited Edition's 4-foot cable isn't user-replaceable. Koss Porta Pro Limited Edition Review Overall, the Koss Porta Pro's are classics for a reason. Nothing is perfect and the nit-picking of sound comes with the job, but there's no denying these sound good. Great even when you consider that they only cost $59. That's $10 more than the [...]
@arjan____ if you like a balanced sound, koss porta pros are awesome. I did a lot of research before getting them and I love them
When I first set eyes on the Koss KTX Pro 1 headphones I wasn't expecting much. Most cheap on-ears sound claustrophobic and pinched, but the KTX Pro 1's sound was big and spacious. The 60-ohm design is exceptionally comfortable, and the foam ear pads exert minimal pressure, so you can wear these things for hours without fatigue setting in. Like all budget headphones the KTX Pro 1's cable lacks an inline mic or phone... The KTX Pro 1 comes with Koss' lifetime warranty, so when it breaks Koss will fix or replace it, forever. The KTX Pro 1 has earned nearly 500 Amazon four- and five-star reviews. I liked what I was hearing, so the question was raised: how would the KTX Pro 1 compare with Koss' even more popular , that one goes for $38 on Amazon.

I discovered the Koss Porta Pro headphones while I was in college. Oblivious to their decades-old legacy, I found satisfaction in these headphones primarily for their budget-friendly price, but also their ear-opening performance, which offered a higher-quality sound than I was used to.Fast forward to 2015, the Porta Pro are in their 31st year of manufacturing. At the same time, the Milwaukee, Wis.-based company has marched forward into the world of wireless with the BT540i. At $199 (about...
As The Verge’s resident headphones obsessive, I hear a few questions quite often: what are the best Bluetooth headphones, where can I find those $1,000 cans for less than $100, and what music do you use for testing in your reviews? The first question will be answered in an upcoming This is My Next feature, the second is daft, and the third forms the subject of this article. The obvious thing to say here is that there’s no right or wrong answer, there aren’t distinct categories of “proper” or...
