We review the Beats Studio 3 wireless noise-cancelling headphones to find if they are worth the £299 price I also have a head that's the size of a small planet, so was a little bit worried the headphones would eventually snap like my Beats Mixrs, which survived five years of intense use before eventually breaking under the strain of my gargantuan noggin [...]
Beats Mixr headphones now come in retina-burning neon colours "These new Mixrs look incredible," said Guetta. One of the most understated line of headphones from a company known for style and overstatement just got a splash of color — and just in time for the summer. A year ago, Beats by Dr. Dre introduced its MIXR line, a David Guetta-inspired collection designed with DJ style in mind. That meant a smaller profile than your traditional Beats, earcups that could rotate up, and a slightly toned-down design. The new MIXRs are available in five bold neon colors (blue, green, yellow, orange and pink) as well as the traditional black, white and red offerings for $249. 99, and they showcase subtle changes over last year’s model. Last year’s MIXRs were sleek and portable, but they also felt incredibly tight on your ears, squeezing in on your head. Beats made the headband slightly larger this year, and it seems a tad more flexible.
Meet the Beats MIXRs. Sure, the MIXRs are technically built for DJs — thank veteran DJ David Guetta for the design — but they hold surprising appeal for any music enthusiast, DJ or not. The MIXRs eschew the iconic — and oft-copied — extra-large Monster design for a smaller, more comfortable feel. Oddly, the MIXRs need to be “broken in” a bit. The on-ear cups are soft and thick, and while they’re not quite as comfortable as those from the Beats Solo line, they do limit ear fatigue well. Listening on the MIXRs is a pleasant experience, and you’ll feel just fine listening even for two or three hours straight.

Link: Beats By Dre — Price: $240/€249/£220Beats by Dre.Still here? Thanks for making it this far — I suspect that some haven’t simply because of the brand name. But the consumer brand that permeates civilisation at a societal level is not the same Beats Pro brand that we’re looking at here. Yes I said Pro, for Beats has a separate line of headphones (the Beats PRO & Beats MIXR) for rather more demanding and discerning users who care more for function than being seen in the same cans as...

Hello, Head-Fi :)Unfortunately, the Ultrasone DJ1 cans that I've had for four years, thanks to the wonderful members here that recommended them to me, have bit the bullet. While I was trying to figure out what was wrong with my DJ equipment, I forgot they were still plugged into the headphone jack, which caused the 3.5mm plug to literally snap off. I had to pull it out of its 6.5mm adapter.SO I NEED SOME NEW HEADPHONES! AGAIN..........YAY.Anyway, as of now I have narrowed my choices down...
