Many gamers hate being forced to use gaming headsets instead of their favorite headphones. Does the Zalman microphone offer a cheap alternative?

The best microphones for gaming and livestreaming But then I used the Zalman ZM-Mic1, and was shocked you could get such an upgrade for only about $10 (£7). The ZM-Mic1 doesn't have top-of-the-line fidelity, but I'm willing to bet it's significantly better than whatever you're using now with your [...]
Zalman hardware warranties will be honored despite parent company's $3 billion fraud conspiracy A troubling situation that threatened to tear apart a trusted PC hardware maker and potentially leave legions of PC enthusiasts without support for current hardware appears to be blowing over, at least for end users. Earlier in November, PC hardware [...]

Too Many Options? Turtle Beach's Ear Force Stealth 450 PC Gaming Headset, Hands On Before using the headset, you'll need to download the software, or as Turtle Beach calls it, an “installation tool,” which allows you to switch between audio modes in addition to activating DTS Headphone X or the Superhuman Hearing feature. How To Turn Your Favourite Pair Of Headphones Into A Headset The downside is that it won't work with computers or phones with a unified headphone/microphone jack. The Belkin Headphone Adaptor with Microphone is ideal for people who have unified headphone/microphone jacks that they want to use their headphones [...]
Turtle Beach has a long lineup of gaming headsets for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC, and one of its most recent products is targeted for the PC audience. The headset comes with three sound modes (along with three presets) as well as DTS Headphone X surround sound. On top of that, it’s only one of the five headsets offered by the company to include its unique Superhuman Hearing mode. The earcups also turn 90 degrees inward so they lie flat on your chest when the headset is around your head. When adjusting the Stealth 450 to fit your head, it requires a surprising amount of force to move the adjustment arms at all.
is unusual among mid-range PCs in that it has an AMD graphics card rather than an Nvidia one. The AMD R7 370 isn’t quite as quick as the current favourite among mid-range PCs – the Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 – but Wired2Fire has compensated for this by equipping its PC with a generous 16GB of RAM. The PC’s Raijintek Arcadia midi-tower case is unobtrusive, with embossed side panels. Another 120mm fan is fitted to the back, and there’s space for a pair of 120mm fans at the top of the case. Wired2Fire has overclocked the unlocked CPU from 3. 5GHz to a huge 4. 4GHz. The processor is joined by a useful 16GB of 1,600MHz DDR3 memory spread across two 8GB sticks.

Open headphones with mic attachment My one concern is that I'm going to be bothering all my friends if my mic picks up the sound coming from the headphones. Is this likely to happen? I was looking at getting superlux hd668b with Zalman Zm-Mic1 High Sensitivity Headphone Microphone. [...]

Best headphones for around $100 The modmic would also be my suggestion for a mic. It's pretty much the only mic that i recommend using. The Zalman ... headphones (vibrations), scuffling of the shirt, computer / AC fans, etc are all picked up by that mic. It really picks up a lot of high ... [...]

After a previous disappointment with a headset, I bought this to use with my pair of Philips SHE3590 earphones, only to find that the cable grapples are not thin enough. If your earphones/headphones are of the "double thin-cable" variety, expect this to happen. Also the mic itself seems to not have very thin cables in mind.If you find yourself in this scenario, don't panic! Attach the mic to some sort of lead (say, the webcam lead or maybe some kind of monitor lead that's showing), turn the...
Microphone audio quality is a deep rabbit hole. But the truth of the matter is, gamers and livestreamers don’t need a studio-level mic—just something better than the little plastic arm attached to your headset. Audio quality is very important, but so are ease-of-use, setup options, and price. We didn’t just look at which microphone would give you a voice made for radio. We looked at which mics were truly best for playing games with friends—or streaming those games to the world. While some...
